The American Academy of Neurology’s (AAN) approved CME magazine is called Continuum : Lifelong Learning in Neurology®. Continuum® , a comprehensive clinically focused review journal , has been published since 1993 and is intended for practicing neurologists , residents , fellows , advanced practice providers and other professionals in the field of neurology . Each biweekly issue, which is authored by subject-matter specialists , offers the most recent information on a particular topic in neurology. Continuum aims to reinforce and improve patient care by promoting critical thinking , promoting self-assessment and lifelong learning abilities and providing timely review articles in an engaging, interactive style .

A posttest consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions covering the content covered in the full issue is part of Continuum’s continuing medical education (CME) component . Up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM of self-assessment CME (SA-CME) may be earned for each issue of this activity. After reviewing Continuum , the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) approved it as a component of the comprehensive program for lifelong learning and self-assessment . This program is required as a necessary part of continuing certification (CC) by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) .
